Scheduled - During this maintenance period, our Network Engineers and Data Centre Operations teams will be conducting the first of two maintenances to upgrade the firmware and hardware.

This maintenance is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 from Midnight (00:00) to 5AM EST, in which we intend to upgrade our gear to a more robust and reliable code and it has been advised by our vendor to increase stability in the network.

Your services will become unavailable for up to 5 minutes at a time throughout the duration of the maintenance.

Updates will be posted at dsdigitalmedia.ca/network-status/ during this maintenance period.

Snapshots being added for all managed OnAPP VM customers

Resolved - Hello

Please be advised that over the coming weeks, we will be adding snapshots to all of our managed OnAPP VM/VPS/Cloud Server customers.

This is being completed so that we can always recover a lost VM, or multiple VM's in case of hypervisor failure, as quickly an efficiently as possible.

We will be completing 1 snapshot per month, and will be maintaining 2 monthly snapshots.

If we are ever required to restore from a snapshot, we will be utilizing the exact same IPs. Therefore no DNS changes will be required in the vast majority of scenarios. Additionally, using the same IPs, will connect the VMs to our various management systems automatically (including backups for example). So, once a VM is brought back online (again, in case of disaster recovery), it will be joined to the clusterlogics backup/recovery system and cartika staff (or the customer) can restore their latest files and databases with a few clicks of the mouse and within a few minutes.

Most Managed OnAPP VM customers have been allocated 100GB of snapshot disk space. We will be adding snapshot disk space to your resource pool, if required, in order to be able to complete and maintain 2 monthly snapshots at a time.

all VMs have been powered on and are coming online. Some VMs will required to undergo an FSCK/CHKDSK process. Please allow time for this process to complete

The underlying hardware issue on this infrastructure has been resolved, and we do expect things to be stable moving forward

DS Digital Media will be performing routine network infrastructure patching on our redundant Juniper stacks in order to apply a newly released critical security patch. We will be patching 1 stack at a time, and transferring the traffic to the redundant stack. Lastly, we will return to a normal configuration with network traffic freely balanced across both stacks. Outside of a few potential network blips during data reconvergence when loads are transferred from one stack to another, we do not expect any network outages to occur
